Summary of Job Duties:The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) Program Faculty member provides pediatric specialty expertise, instruction, mentorship, and academic support within the UAMS College of Nursing Department of Graduate Studies and Faculty Affairs. This faculty member collaborates with pediatric specialty faculty and colleagues across College of Nursing programs to deliver high-quality graduate nursing education.

This is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty appointment that may be based at the UAMS Little Rock or Northwest Arkansas campus. The primary focus is teaching and mentoring, with additional contributions to the College of Nursing's research, scholarship, service, and clinical practice missions.

Upon approval, the selected candidate may be eligible for a practice agreement that allows a percentage of the faculty contract to be supported through clinical practice. Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in nursing.

  • Current, unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of teaching experience in a graduate nursing program.

  • Experience with simulation-based learning.

  • Familiarity with a concept-based curriculum.

  • Eligible for advanced practice nursing licensure in Arkansas.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities

  • Provides graduate-level instruction in pediatric nursing and advanced practice nursing courses.

  • Advises, mentors, and supports graduate nursing students throughout their academic and professional development.

  • Collaborates with pediatric specialty faculty to plan, deliver, and evaluate the pediatric nurse practitioner curriculum.

  • Works collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders across College of Nursing programs.

  • Participates in curriculum development, course evaluation, and continuous program improvement.

  • Supports the achievement of programmatic outcomes, accreditation standards, and academic objectives.

  • Incorporates current evidence, clinical expertise, and best practices into teaching and student mentorship.

  • Participates in simulation-based learning and other innovative instructional methods, as appropriate.

  • Maintains professional expertise and engagement in the pediatric advanced practice nursing specialty.

  • Contributes to research and scholarly activities consistent with faculty expectations.

  • Participates in service to the College of Nursing, university, profession, and community.

  • Engages in clinical practice activities when applicable and approved.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
