Reporting to the Vice President Commercial Operations - Americas with dotted line to the global AST Business Area leader, the function of the AST Business Development Manager is to develop the clinical market for Bruker's sepsis diagnostic solutions in the US. This position is remote, based in the U.S., and requires travel up to 70%.



Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to develop and drive market adoption of Bruker's sepsis diagnostic solutions in the US clinical market

    Achieve US AST sales revenue goals: develop and execute account specific strategies to drive success; analyze ongoing performance, identify gaps and propose initiatives to address if they appear
  • Develop close working relationships with local Sales, Applications, Scientific Affairs, ID Pharmacist and Regional Business Unit teams to provide a clear plan to promote and grow the product portfolio into US market.
  • Work closely with Commercial, R&D, and Marketing to ensure successful launch of sepsis diagnostic solutions to US market.
  • Manage, coordinate, and (second line) support of national studies, including managing & developing (in combination with scientific affairs, field sales representatives, and application specialists) key opinion leaders.
  • Engage in scientific exchange with KOLs regarding the implementation, efficacy, and improvement of the product and related trends.
  • Assist Internal Trainer in education and maintain knowledge of field application specialists on Bruker sepsis diagnostic solutions to allow them to provide demonstrations, trainings and first line support on the product.
  • Develop and provide market, product & value positioning strategies (in combination with commercial management and product management) for the commercial team, based on the clinical, scientific, organizational and financial impact of our solutions.
  • Assist in field "pull/education" strategy: join the commercial team in visiting target accounts to establish interest in products and generate demand from other hospital stakeholders (financial, scientific, clinical impact).
  • Attend & present products at relevant high-level events to generate leads and interest.
  • Work with colleagues in the Business Area and Commercial Team to share market information, competitor activities, customer feedback, new ideas and experiences to ensure teams are briefed and aware of ongoing activities in the region
  • Provide regular market and product feedback to the AST Business Area & Commercial team leadership, so sales tools can be created and updated as required
  • Prepare reports and notes on customer meetings; keep CRM up to date


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical microbiology, AST methodology, antimicrobial resistance.
  • Able to motivate customers and drive the sales process in a competitive environment
  • Tenacity and self-motivation inspired by success, enthusiasm, drive and initiative directed towards sales growth
  • Must be willing to travel up to 70%
  • Self-discipline and the ability to adjust priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment
  • Outgoing and likeable personality with a high degree of personal integrity
  • A natural team player, willing and able to build confidence and to establish co-operative relationships with personnel throughout the company
  • A very high standard of personal presentation with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate strong scientific and technical knowledge to those of varying levels of expertise
  • Good market intelligence with respect to competitive products and vendors
  • Valid passport
  • Valid US driver's license

Education and Experience

  • Degree level qualification in microbiology, biology or chemistry (pHD preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated successful sales experience, clinical laboratory diagnostics required

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $109,500.00 and $175,000.00 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
