How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense Mission:
As a Senior Program Manager for MTSI, you will serve as the principal acquisition advisor to the USSOCOM PEO-FW Stand-off Precision Guided Munitions (SOPGM) Program Manager in Tampa, Florida and the Deputy SOPGM Program Manager at Eglin AFB, Florida. In this critical role, you will spearhead the acquisition, development, integration, and fielding of complex weapon systems on Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) aircraft. You will act as the driving force behind modernizing critical weapon systems, translating urgent operational requirements into executable acquisition strategies to rapidly deliver advanced capabilities to our special operations forces.
As a key liaison between USSOCOM leadership, Combat Acquisition Detachments (CADs), AFSOC, and industry partners, you will lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and oversee comprehensive fielding roadmaps. The ideal candidate is a seasoned defense acquisition professional who excels at managing cost, schedule, and technical performance while driving programmatic Courses of Action (COAs). While a technical background in complex weapon systems is highly desirable, your primary focus will be leveraging your deep expertise in DoD and USSOCOM acquisition processes to navigate challenges and ensure mission success for the PEO-FW SOPGM portfolio. This position will be in the Eglin AFB, FL area.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Serve as the principal program management advisor to the USSOCOM PEO-FW SOPGM Program Manager and Deputy.
  • Serve as principal program manager for one or more weapon system programs
  • Drive the acquisition strategy, development, fielding, integration, and sustainment of complex weapon systems.
  • Collaborate with CADs to understand operational requirements and translate them into actionable acquisition strategies and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate program activities with various government and industry partners, ensuring effective communication, schedule alignment, and collaboration.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate programmatic, schedule, and technical risks associated with program execution.
  • Oversee the development and review of program documentation, including schedules, system specifications, test plans, integration procedures, and fielding requirements.
  • Participate in system design reviews, providing senior-level programmatic assessments.
  • Develop and implement long-term program strategies, fielding plans, and capability roadmaps.
  • May require occasional travel to support program activities.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Defense Acquisition Manager, Program Manager, or in a related senior-level acquisition field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in DoD and USSOCOM acquisition processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Proven track record performing as a technical program manager or acquisition lead for complex aviation, strike, weapon programs, or equivalent defense systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to brief senior government leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross functional teams.
  • Strong programmatic problem-solving and analytical skills (cost, schedule, and risk management).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Acquisition/Program Management, Engineering, or a related field required
Even Better if you have these desired skills:
  • Master of Science or Business Administration degree
  • Previous AFSOC or USSOCOM program management experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SOPGM weapon portfolio
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in weapon system technology, including system design, integration, and testing.
  • Experience with airborne or ground employed weapon systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant military engineering standards and technical specifications.
  • An educational background specifically in Systems, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience working on-site in a government client environment.
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired.
