Media Production/Services Specialist 2

Media Specialist:

This Specialist maintains a range of media (tapes, cassettes and microfiche). In addition to maintaining the media library and resolving common data processing problems, the incumbent diagnoses and acts on media errors not fully covered by existing procedures and guidelines (e.g., tape, disposition or making mechanical adjustments to maintain or restore media equipment). In response to media error reports, this Worker may deviate from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution and refers still-unresolved problems to Media Specialist III.

Summary

Researches, prepares, and produces digital imagery (still or videos) for training, promotion, documentation, or other Laboratory official purposes for both internal and external audiences. Serves as primary contact for photographic and videographic services required by Laboratory customers.

Specific duties may include conducting needs assessments, interacting with customer organizations to analyze and develop visual media content and/or presentations, and advising customers of Laboratory media policies and procedures.

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area plus working knowledge of other related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

Education

Position typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
