Job Overview:

The Trinitas Intensive Care Unit is a closed 25-bed unit supporting medical surgical cases with a variety of life-threatening needs. Our care management consists of care bundles based on evidence-based practices that are executed with compassion and care. Our intensive care nurses work with all patients and their families to create a healing, humane, and caring environment while focusing on patient advocacy.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing; be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete the requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire to the unit; hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of the start date. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. Preferred at least 1 year ICU experience or 1-2 years of med-surgical / telemetry experience or Post-ICU, and/or High Acuity Acute Care experience required. Prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a full-time working week consisting of Monday-Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by the department. The schedule is a night shift - 7PM-7:30AM.
