Job Summary

The Sr. Equipment Analyst oversees TRANSFLO equipment performance within an assigned geographic region, ensuring equipment is maintained, optimized, and aligned with customer and business requirements. This role applies sound technical, economic, and industry best practices to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment operations. The Sr. Equipment Analyst identifies efficiencies, supports revenue and asset value improvements, manages equipment-related projects and vendors, and promotes continuous improvement while ensuring health, safety, and environmental protection remain core business priorities.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Oversee equipment maintenance, repair, and inspection programs for transloading and terminal support equipment to meet customer and terminal needs.
  • Identify, develop, and manage third-party service providers performing equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, capital construction projects, and major equipment rebuilds.

  • Manage compliance and provide ad hoc training related to specifications, repairs, inspections, purchasing, and TRANSFLO CMMS equipment asset software.

  • Manage facility asset and transloading equipment condition assessments to prioritize capital maintenance and replacement needs.

  • Manage the purchase, quality, and commissioning of transloading equipment for new business startups and support equipment needs for new business opportunities.

  • Document equipment operations and maintenance knowledge to support development of work instructions and equipment maintenance standards.

  • Provide technical and operational input for large-scale, equipment-intensive capital projects involving terminal assets and equipment.

  • Manage an assigned regional equipment operating budget of approximately $10 million to $15 million and develop plans to control expenses.

  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree/2-year Degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience in engineering, transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, or equipment management.

  • No supervisory experience required.

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 10 or more years of technical or engineering experience.

  • No supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree.
  • 3 or more years of experience in engineering, transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, or equipment management.

  • 1 or more years of experience in project management and managing equipment in a production environment.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment components for bulk material handling systems, including conveyors, augers, truck scales, dust collection systems, compressors, blowers, pumps, meters, rotating equipment, piping, electrical motors, and controls.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to equipment problems.

  • Project management skills, including use of scheduling software.

  • Knowledge of civil engineering practices, including construction methods, estimating, and surveying.

  • Ability to read and interpret civil and mechanical design drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to lead, coach, and influence contractors.

  • Knowledge of electrical power concepts for low and high voltage, including control logic for electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and CSX track regulatory standards.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and executive audiences.

  • Microsoft Office skills.
