Employees of UNCA are provided with a comprehensive benefits package as well as other resources, policies and programs to ensure a happy and healthy work/life balance. Benefit eligible employees have access to dental, vision and health insurance plans - eligibility begins on the first of the month following date of hire. Retirement plan contributions begin on the eligibility date following election and include employer contributions for either a defined contribution or a defined benefit plan. Optional disability plans are also available. Eligible employees have access to tuition waivers for up to three courses per academic year; employees may enroll at any of the constituent UNC System campuses. Also offered are group exercise classes, and free access to the campus recreation center for full time employees, vaccine shots are also offered on campus, pretax flexible spending accounts, 12 paid holidays and 24 hours of paid community service leave each year. Leave earning employees (staff and 12-month faculty) who work at least half of the working days of their first month of employment will begin accruing vacation and sick leave immediately. This position is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of the Women's Golf Program in a manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department and the University, including but not limited to coaching, teaching, recruiting, team travel, budget management, fund raising, and community relations. This position is required to adhere to all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Big South Conference.
FLSA Exempt
Required Education/Experience/Skills
This position requires possession of post baccalaureate credentials. May also consider a Bachelor's degree and equivalent independent experience. A successful candidate will have collegiate golf experience as a coach, student-athlete, and/or professional level.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
Two to four years of collegiate golf experience as a coach and/or professional level. Experience in golf tournament administration and/or operations. Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills. Also knowledge and adherence to compliance with University, Big South Conference and NCAA Division I rules and regulations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor students in assigned sport.
  • Knowledge of successful recruitment cycles and best practices in a college or university setting.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations for playing and administration of assigned sport.
