Job Description
South Island P.S.D., a water utility serving the south end of Hilton Head, has several job openings in their Installation & Repair Department. Participates in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection lines and related infrastructure.
Installs, maintains, and repairs water mains, hydrants, and meters.
Operates a variety of equipment in the performance of excavation, trenching, shoring, and backfilling activities.
Exercises valves.
Conducts water pressure tests.
Responds to customer complaints regarding water or wastewater services; troubleshoots and provides guidance to customers in order to resolve problems.
Turns customer water service on and off as required.
Assists with emergency repairs.
Maintains tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Repairs streets, sidewalks, and landscaping upon project completion.
Performs related duties.
