We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Data Entry Specialist to support our clinical services clients. This position is responsible for accurately entering physician orders and other clinical data into electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate care. The ideal candidate has experience with long-term care or assisted living facility documentation and physician orders, along with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

This is a fully remote position offering a flexible schedule, making it an excellent opportunity for someone seeking work-life balance. The successful candidate may work during the day, evenings, or weekends, allowing them to create a schedule that fits their availability while consistently meeting established deadlines and productivity expectations. The candidate for this position must have a confidential work area where others cannot access or observe data they are working on. Must have secure internet connection and a computer that is protected from computer viruses and other cyber security threats.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Enter physician orders into designated clinical and billing systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Review physician documentation for completeness and identify missing or inconsistent information.
  • Enter other clinical data, transferring information from one electronic and paper documentation system to another.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor work queues and prioritize data entry to meet established turnaround times.
  • Assist with audits and quality assurance reviews related to physician orders and coding.
  • Communicate with facility staff regarding documentation or coding questions as needed.
  • Perform other administrative or data entry duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records (PointClickCare experience preferred).
  • Experience as a Business Office Manager or Biller in long-term care preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Medical Records professional, health unit coordinator (HUC), Transcription and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience preferred.
  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living and/or other post-acute care settings.
  • Knowledge of physician order workflows and reimbursement processes.


Special Position Requirements:


  • Must maintain all required professional licenses and certifications if applicable.
  • Provide proof of current and in good standing licensure if applicable.
  • Must maintain active driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance upon request.


Physical Demands:


  • Ability to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling bending and stooping movements.
  • Ability to talk and hear and lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.


Mental Demands:


  • Must be able to demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to maintain organizational goals.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hours and schedule.
