Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, vocational training, or certification in heavy equipment repair, industrial maintenance, diesel mechanics, millwright work, or a related field preferred.
  • MSHA certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.


Experience Requirements



  • Minimum 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, mining equipment, aggregate processing equipment, quarry machinery, or industrial plant systems.
  • Strong experience with rock crushers, cone crushers, jaw crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and power transmission components.
  • Welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment rebuild experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment failures in both field service and shop environments.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, maintenance tracking systems (CMMS), and equipment inspections is a plus.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to work in outdoor, industrial, mining, quarry, and aggregate production environments.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working around heavy machinery.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, man lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Capable of responding to emergency breakdowns and traveling throughout California as required.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours when operational needs demand.


Job Duties



  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mining, aggregate, and heavy industrial equipment.
  • Repair and replace bearings, shafts, belts, liners, motors, rollers, gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, and related components.
  • Complete crusher tear-downs, rebuilds, installations, and equipment change-outs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems to minimize downtime.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs to support equipment reliability and performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate repair records, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, environmental regulations, and all workplace safety standards.
