The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Pharmacist I - RWJBarnabas Health At RWJBarnabas Health, A Pharmacist I optimizes patient safety through medication therapy management, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medications in our patients. In addition, a Pharmacist I accurately compounds sterile and non-sterile products, provides drug information to patients and staff, and is responsible for direct oversight of technician activity while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and all hospital policies. A typical day for a Pharmacist I may include:
- Reviewing, perfecting and verifying orders for completeness, accuracy and appropriateness in accordance with pharmaceutical care standards and prescribed policies and procedures.
- Preparing or supervising preparation and accurate dispensing of medication to inpatients and outpatients, including unit dose dispensing, automated dispensing machines (Pyxis), IV admixture, chemotherapy, TPN, investigational drugs, other sterile products, and extemporaneous preparations, in accordance with hospital policy.
- Demonstrating competency in utilizing EPIC for documentation of clinical interventions or other activities as appropriate
- Completing learner modules and competency assigned as appropriate.
- Maintaining exceptional customer service and effective communication with providers and nurses to ensure safe and appropriate use of drugs.
- Performing duties including but not limited to medication counseling, therapeutic and formulary substitutions, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, and renal dose monitoring.
- Adhering to RWJBH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior as well as departmental specific standards of practice.

To be considered for this Pharmacist I opportunity:
- Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
- Must hold and maintain an active Pharmacist license/registration in good standing from the State of New Jersey
Preferred:
- Advanced degree
- ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
