Instructor

Kansas State University and the Department of Interior Architecture & Industrial Design are seeking an instructor to teach Interior Design and Interior Architecture studio courses. The appointment will be at the rank of Instructor and is a temporary position.

Our mission in the Department of Interior Architecture & Industrial Design is dedicated to providing design education that advances user-centered design through innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applied learning. We empower students to become creative problem solvers, ethical professionals, and leaders in design and design thinking by fostering a culture of experimentation, empathy, and sustainability. IAID contributes to shaping environments and products that enhance well-being, equity, and sustainability through research, applied learning, community engagement, and professional partnerships.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to co-teach in a studio environment for beginning and mid-degree students.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
