Mechanic - DP0798 - Clean up & Set up

Pay Rate: $24.50 per Hour

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, loaders, skid steers, UTVs, trailers, and other agricultural equipment.

  Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine systems.

  
  
• 
  

  Troubleshoot equipment failures and complete repairs in a timely manner.

  
  
• 
  

  Inspect equipment before and after repairs to ensure safe operation.

  
  
• 
  

  Change engine oil, filters, belts, hoses, bearings, brakes, and tires.

  
  
• 
  

  Repair and maintain hydraulic cylinders, pumps, hoses, and fittings.

  
  
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Operate equipment safely while performing repairs or testing.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary.
• Communicate repair status and equipment needs with supervisors.
• Order or recommend replacement parts and maintain parts inventory.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with emergency repairs during critical farming operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2-5 years of agricultural or heavy equipment mechanical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.
• Ability to read service manuals and diagnostic information.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate agricultural equipment safely.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Frequently bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Class C driver's license with a clean DMV printout.
• Must be able to operate grader, tractor and special equipment.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform groundwork when needed.
• Must be able to work independently with or without direct supervision.
• Must be able to work at different ranch locations.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
