Under the general direction of VP of Finance, this is a blended position that performs a wide variety of tasks of operational and accounting functions to support the banks finance and deposit operations teams. Responsibilities within the finance department will perform a variety of reconciling, processing accountabilities, and prepare specific monthly financial reports for management. This position manages the payment cycle for all invoices, ensures the proper G/L is assigned, maintains the digital filing system, and makes sure payments are processed in a timely manner. This role oversees the recording of fixed assets, applies proper coding, maintains the depreciation schedule, records prepaid and accrual expenses and assists in annual audits. Other responsibilities include performs daily reconciliation of correspondent bank accounts and assigned G/L accounts. Secondary review of securities at FHLB is performed when bank investments are purchased/sold, and pledging of securities are assigned. Additional duties include review of application processing daily controls along with distribution of daily statement reports such as; daily statement, income statement, posted transactions, and closed accounts. Overall supports the VP Finance and provides back up coverage for certain tasks typically performed daily.

Deposit Operations responsibilities are overseen by the VP of Operations and includes review/verify domestic wires and international wires prior to final verification by another team member. Crosstrain with deposit operations staff for back-up coverage during scheduled time away, or as situations or department needs change.

Individual is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations including but not limited to: ACH Rules, BSA and OFAC requirements, Regulation D, Regulation E, Red Flag, and Regulation CC.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time well to complete work in established deadlines

  • Follow established processes, guidelines, and procedures while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations

Education and Special Requirements
  • Accounting degree preferrable or minimum two-year professional knowledge and experience in a bank's accounting or accounts payable department.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting or reconciliation matters clearly.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and business acumen in bank operations.
  • Possess good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using digital payment technologies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook to create and maintain various documents and reports and send communications to customers and bank staff.
  • Fiserv Core banking system preferred
  • Audit background beneficial

Hours: 8:00 - 4:30 Monday - Friday
