Description SUMMARY The East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area Manager plays a pivotal role in driving AMPP's growth across the East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area by identifying localized growth opportunities, strengthening high-level stakeholder relationships, and expanding engagement within key industries. Acting as AMPP's primary regional leader in the EAP Area, the role focuses on navigating the unique local business landscapes and collaborating closely with regional members, local chapters, corporate partners, and government agencies to significantly enhance the organization's presence, regulatory influence, and business impact within the region. Furthermore, the Area Manager tailors and executes regional initiatives specifically designed for the East Asia & Pacific (EAP) Area, aligned with AMPP's Strategic Geographies framework. By delivering critical, EAP-specific market intelligence and strategic insights, the incumbent fosters robust localized partnerships and supports regional governance to ensure long-term sustainability and sustainable organizational growth in this highly dynamic and high-potential region. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for the managing/hiring/disciplining of temporary or direct reporting staff if required. Qualifications EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and legislation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, verbally and in writing, and to respond to questions from groups of managers, members, contractors, government agencies, and the general public. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia both written and spoken. Knowledge of a third language of the region like Mandarin, is highly desirable. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement any required actions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Ability to get a visa to the US, and all major countries in the Area. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must possess a specific level of communication skills both verbally and written. Have demonstrated personnel management skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction, is highly desirable. Ability to work in a multi-task environment considering various external factors and to communicate efficiently and accurately to both managers/supervisors and subordinate staff. Must be computer literate with knowledge and experience in word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to learn and use association specific software.
