Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Cable Splicer Apprentice in Kansas City, Mo.

Job Duties: During the term of this apprenticeship, the incumbent is expected to acquire the skills and technical knowledge necessary to equip the employee to safely perform all the work of the Journeyman Cable Splicer, Job #12.

Drives Company vehicles. Mounts and removes chains and changes flat tires when necessary. Performs minor service on truck in the field. Uses and maintains any equipment necessary to perform job.

Performs similar and related work consistent with the general nature of this job classification.

Education: High School or Equivalent

Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform all essential job functions as identified by the Company. Reasonable accommodations may be made upon request to enable an individual with a disability to perform the essential functions.

General: Must be mechanically inclined and capable of absorbing training necessary for qualification in higher job classifications. Must be D.O.T. certified to drive as required by federal law.
