Job Title: Technical Support Analyst 3

Location(s): Petersburg, VA

Short Description:
This is a part-time onsite contract role (24 hours/week, 3 days/week) for an initial three-month period. The position is expected to transition to a permanent part-time wage role while continuing at 24 hours per week.

Job Description:
We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to assess, maintain, and support the organization's technology environment, including hardware, software, systems, and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable IT operations, provide end-user technical support, assist with technology planning, and support technology-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess organizational technology needs, including hardware, software, systems, and upcoming technology initiatives.
  • Track ongoing and future technology projects, issues, action items, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical support for applications, desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and related hardware.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain computer systems and technology equipment.
  • Assist and coach users with troubleshooting computers, mobile devices, telephones, software applications, and asset management tools.
  • Install, document, maintain, upgrade, and replace hardware and software as needed.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and equipment records.
  • Review and recommend procurement of technology equipment and related resources.
  • Support software security controls and help ensure compliance with organizational IT standards.
  • Advise users on technology solutions that support business operations.
  • Coordinate with centralized IT teams for advanced technical guidance and support.
  • Escalate critical incidents, outages, and security-related issues to appropriate IT support teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting office relocations, including workstation, server, and telephone migrations.
  • Experience participating in or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations.
  • Experience with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while providing timely technical support.

Work Schedule:

  • Onsite
  • 3 days per week
  • 24 hours per week
  • Initial 3-month contract with expected transition to a permanent part-time position (24 hours/week)

Must have a basic understanding of various types of technology and the ability to research them to trouble shoot possible technical issues Required 1 Years
Experience working on PC Refresh projects with one or more Executive Branch agencies within the Commonwealth of Virginia Required 1 Years
Demonstrated knowledge Virginia Information Technologies Agencies policies and processes regarding PC Refresh Required 1 Years
Must demonstrated success working as a team member and collaborating to achieve objectives. Required 1 Years
Demonstrated experience planning, executing, supporting full office relocations, including structured cabling, network wiring, equipment setup Highly desired 1 Years
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Highly desired 1 Years
