Trafford Borough Full-time Police Officer

The Trafford Borough Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of full-time police officers. Applicant requirements: must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen, and PA Act 120 certified. The applicant must also have a high school diploma or a GED, be in good physical condition, meet all Civil Service requirements and possess a valid PA Drivers License.

The full-time officer position has a starting base pay of $70,221/year up to $79,747 after 3 years of service, $8,000 Sign on Bonus; $4,000 will be paid upon successful completion of 90 days and $4,000 upon 3rd year anniversary date. Applications may be obtained from and returned to the Borough office located at 414 Brinton Avenue, Trafford, PA 15085, between the hours of 9: 00 AM and 4: 00 PM. All applications must be received by August 18, 2026, at 4 PM. The physical agility testing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 9: 00 AM at the Allegheny County Police Academy. Applicants who successfully pass the physical agility test will be eligible to take the written exam immediately thereafter.
