Tile Manager Location On-site / Field-based Company Overview We are a well-established stone and tile fabrication and installation company located in the Vail Valley of Colorado. Our work includes residential and commercial projects that require coordination between crews, contractors, suppliers, and ownership. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Slab and Tile Superintendent / Project Manager to oversee projects from start to finish and ensure consistent, high-quality execution in the field. Position Summary This position is responsible for managing slab and tile projects from pre-install through completion. This role oversees crews, coordinates with contractors, communicates with ownership, and ensures each job is properly staffed, stocked, and executed. The ideal candidate is proactive, calm under pressure, and able to anticipate needs and solve problems before they impact schedules or quality. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires accountability, strong communication, and follow-through. Core Responsibilities & Accountability Project Oversight (Start to Finish) Review project scope, timelines, and requirements prior to job start Oversee projects through completion, punch list, and closeout Ensure work meets company quality standards and job specifications Accountability: Projects stay on schedule and are completed correctly the first time Crew Management Manage, schedule, and direct tile installation crews Ensure crews arrive on time, are prepared, and understand job expectations Monitor workmanship and productivity in the field Address performance, attendance, or quality issues promptly Accountability: Crews are productive, organized, and held to company standards Contractor & Client Communication Serve as the primary field contact for general contractors, builders, and site supervisors Communicate schedules, access requirements, and job progress clearly Handle field questions and issues professionally Accountability: Contractors are informed, issues are addressed quickly, and relationships remain strong Materials, Inventory & Job Readiness Ensure all jobs are fully stocked with tile, stone, setting materials, and tools before work begins Anticipate material needs and communicate shortages early Coordinate with warehouse and office staff to avoid delays Accountability: Crews are never delayed due to missing or incorrect materials Issue Resolution & Problem Solving Identify and resolve field issues as they arise (site conditions, design conflicts, damage, delays) Communicate problems and solutions to ownership promptly Make sound decisions in the field to keep projects moving Accountability: Problems are handled proactively, not passed along or ignored Internal Communication & Reporting Provide regular job updates to ownership and management Communicate schedule changes, risks, or cost impacts clearly Maintain basic project documentation as required Accountability: Ownership has accurate, up-to-date information on all active projects Required Qualifications Proven experience managing construction projects Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and accountable Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously Strong communication skills with crews, contractors, and ownership Preferred Qualifications Spanish-speaking (highly preferred) Experience in stone and tile installation Prior superintendent or project management experience Ability to read plans and specifications Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Vehicle or vehicle allowance (if applicable) Paid time off and holidays Success in This Role Looks Like Jobs are stocked, staffed, and ready before crews arrive Crews know what theyre doing and perform consistently Contractors trust our process and communication Ownership is not surprised by problems theyre already being handled | |
