We are actively looking for a Senior Transportation Associate to join our Lake Mary office. As part of the transportation technology group, this position will work within a team of professionals developing ITS and technology solutions for Central Florida Expressway Authority and a multitude of FDOT and other Florida Agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in researching technology solutions related to ITS systems to improve safety, maintenance and operations
  • Research software packages that improve operations and maintenance of ITS systems
  • Work with dedicated staff augmentation team to serve client responsibilities as it relates to the ITS program
  • Provide 24/7 support for the CFX ITS program related to construction activities
  • Coordinate with internal team members to integrate new devices and systems
  • Coordinate with internal departments
  • Manage maintenance contracts on behalf of client
  • Manage ITS communications network
  • Provide plans review services
  • Assist in work program development
  • Attend design, maintenance, and construction meetings as necessary
  • Perform specification development
  • Documentation of concepts and requirements for ITS systems and devices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil, transportation, electrical or related engineering field; required
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in ITS design; required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with Traffic Management Software such as SunGuide and working with ITS systems of both FDOT and local agencies including a tolling agency; required
  • Required skills and attributes:
    • Possess knowledge of ITS Standards and software packages
    • Possess communication networking expertise
    • Knowledge of CFX's SunGuide and Data Server Operations
    • Understands the networking standards of CFX and its transportation agency partners
    • Experience with managing maintenance contracts
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing

Physical Requirements:

A large portion of work is field based, which may necessitate climbing, navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment. Field work includes exposure to extreme heat, cold or inclement weather. Ability to use standard office equipment.
