LPN EMERGENCY DEPT | UM HEALTH-SPARROW CARSON CITY

General Purpose of Job:

Responsible for responding to requests by the physician staff. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

• Responds to requests for services from areas in a timely and safe manner.
• Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
• Assists with vital signs/updates to patients and their family and documents in the patient record.
• Screen all patient telephone calls and responses to all messages that do not require a provider.
• Responsibilities include supply restocking
• Perform routine diagnostic tests and treatments
• Prepare and clean the patient area; sets up equipment, clean and facilitate room set up after a procedure.
• Perform patient care measures including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens.
• Participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development
• Participates in community activities, which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.
• Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
