Inova Cares for Children - Sterling is looking for a dedicated Pediatrician to join the team. This role will be full-time from Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. The Pediatrician provides comprehensive, family-centered primary care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults at Inova Cares for Children. In this role, the physician delivers high-quality outpatient care while serving as a clinical educator by supervising and mentoring medical students and residents. Inova Cares Children Pediatrician (MD/DO) Job Responsibilities: Physician Coverage and Responsibilities:
Performs duties as set forth in this agreement, as well as duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the medical director of the Inova Cares Clinic for Children and/or the president of the Pediatric Service Line. Provides professional services to Inova Cares for Children patients. Provides supervision of pediatric residents and participates in the didactic program of the pediatric residency program. Participates in coverage of Inova Cares for Children triage services on assigned nights and weekends in accordance with a published schedule. Participates in efforts to improve the effectiveness of pediatric services in collaboration with the medical director and the director. When the physician is engaged in full-time status with Inova Health System, the physician is prohibited from engaging in the private practice of medicine during the term of this agreement and from performing the same or similar professional and administrative services at any other hospital or entity.
Quality Improvement:
Participates in regular quality improvement and cost saving activities in collaboration with other professional members of the healthcare team at Inova Cares for Children. In conjunction with the Medical Director, Program Director and nursing staff, acts as a patient advocate in monitoring, tracking, assessing and evaluating the quality of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of accredited Medical Doctorate Program (MD/DO)
- Board Certification: Must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
- Certification: Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training; BLS from the American Heart Association.
- Licensure: Currently hold or ability to obtain an unrestricted VA medical licensure
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in medical Spanish preferred but not required. Flexibility to provide coverage across multiple practice locations as needed. Interest in caring for underserved and culturally diverse patient populations.
