Quality Control Technician II

Position Title: QC Technician

Work Location: Worcester, MA 01604

Assignment Duration: 12 months (possible extension- performance based)

Position Summary: The positions support the Quality Control (QC) Microbiology Laboratory in Worcester, Massachusetts. The team is looking for two high-energy, self-driven individuals who are GMP-oriented and SOP-oriented.

Background & Context: During the first few months, the selected candidates will primarily support sample discard activities to address the laboratory's backlog of retained samples and create additional storage space within the units.

Key Responsibilities:

* Primary responsibilities include performing endotoxin testing, bioburden testing, contamination checks, BI testing, and the full range of microbiological testing for in-process samples, BDI samples, and water samples.

* The role also includes supporting Environmental Monitoring (EM) activities within the laboratory while collaborating with the QC Microbiology team to support daily laboratory operations.

Qualification & Experience:

* Candidates should be high-energy, self-driven, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. * Candidates should be GMP-oriented and SOP-oriented.

* Candidates should have strong attention to detail.

* Candidates should be team players and possess strong communication skills.

* Candidates should understand how to escalate issues appropriately and communicate effectively while supporting laboratory operations. * Candidates should be able to work in a Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

* Candidates should be able to perform QC Microbiology testing according to established SOPs.

* Candidates should be able to support Environmental Monitoring (EM) activities. Previous EM experience is preferred but not required, as the team has a robust in-house training program.

* Candidates with QC Microbiology experience are preferred; however, recent graduates with the right mentality, positive attitude, and high energy will also be considered because of the team's robust training program. * Candidates with Microbiology education, GMP experience, Analytical laboratory experience, or general laboratory experience will be considered based on their overall background.

* Candidates with Analytical Chemistry GMP experience and experience following SOPs will also be considered, even if they do not have direct Microbiology or Environmental Monitoring experience.

* Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and be able to complete the team's training program successfully. * Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and internship or entry-level laboratory experience will be considered.

* Candidates with a Master's degree may be considered depending on their overall experience; however, candidates with a Master's degree and extensive experience may be considered overqualified for this entry-level position.

* Candidates must be willing to work 100% onsite and be available to complete the initial Monday-Friday training period, followed by the assigned weekend-inclusive work schedule.
