Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic, experienced Director of Global Corporate Communications to lead proactive storytelling for Visa. This role will shape and drive the narrative around Visa's growth, financial performance and business momentum, translating complex data and business results into compelling stories for media and other key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on practitioner, someone who can develop a communications strategy tied to business priorities and financial results, and who is equally comfortable drafting a press release, briefing a reporter, or advising senior executives on messaging.

This is a unique opportunity to help define how Visa tells its growth story to the world, sitting at the intersection of financial communications, data storytelling and proactive media engagement within a global, matrixed organization.

Essential Functions:

The ideal candidate has the ability to:

Proactive Storytelling & Growth Narrative:

  • Support the development of the strategy and execution of Visa's proactive storytelling agenda, articulating Visa's growth story across markets, products and business lines.
  • Support Visa's financial communications, including quarterly earnings, investor-adjacent messaging, in close partnership with Investor Relations, Finance and Legal, and other business milestones.
  • Partner with Visa's business and economic insights team to identify and shape data-driven storytelling opportunities that showcase Visa's impact and momentum.

Content Development & Media Engagement:

  • Draft, edit and refine high-quality communications materials, including press releases, executive talking points, media pitches and Q&A documents.
  • Lead direct media engagement, including pitching, briefing and building relationships with key financial, business and trade press.
  • Serve as a hands on contributor who can step in to write, pitch or execute when timing or capacity requires direct involvement.

Executive & Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Partner closely with senior communications leaders, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal and business unit leaders to align messaging across audiences.
  • Act as a connective tissue across global and regional communications teams to ensure consistency in the growth narrative.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement:

  • Partner with communications leaders to track the impact and effectiveness of financial communications and storytelling initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools and approaches for data storytelling and proactive media engagement.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a Phd.
  • Minimum 10 plus years of experience in corporate communications, ideally within a large, global, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing financial communications strategy, including earnings-related or business-performance communications.
  • The ability to translate complex financial and business data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Hands-on media relations experience, including a track record of successful media engagement, pitching and placement with business, financial and trade press.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience drafting press releases, xecutive talking points, bylines and other communications materials.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders, e.g., Investor Relations, Finance as a trusted communications advisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, judgment and discretion, particularly with sensitive financial information.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to influence without authority.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify gaps, recommend solutions and lead change.


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $153,600 to $273,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
