DLZ Corporation has a Construction Observer Manageropportunity to develop a group and grow into a leadership role in Indianapolis, IN. Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinate all aspects of field inspection. -
Interpret specifications, working drawings, including submittals and shop drawings and convey intent to the contractor. -
Liaison between project and field staff on all aspects of construction projects. -
Enforce the contract documents. -
Supervise the performance of all testing and sampling as required in the plans and specifications. -
Coordinate the collection of field data as required by the plans and specifications or project staff. -
Assure that field data obtained is accurate and recorded in a legible organized fashion. -
Keep Project Manager apprised of schedule changes and work schedule problems. Work with project staff in charge of project on design changes, construction/contractor concerns and affected public. -
Keep the client fully informed as to satisfactory progress through daily reports and scheduled progress meetings. -
Review the report of daily installed construction quantities to review payment requests in terms of progress and amount completed to date. -
Administer the release and regulations of the UST program (if required). -
Administer the public health and safety requirements, and be fully trained in the proper safety procedures incurred while inspecting. -
Administer the rules and regulations of AHERA program and meet EPA certification requirement (if required). -
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in applicable field with 3 years relevant experience, or -
Associates Degree in applicable field with 6 years experience. -
Proper certifications such as compaction, asphalt, concrete, aggregate or others. -
40 hours approved safety training program to qualify for hazardous waste remediation clean-up inspection. - 40 hours approved and certified AHERA EPA training for building inspector/management planner.
- INDOT construction inspection prequalification preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
- CESSWI certification or ability to obtain certification.
