We need someone who can work as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and partner with stakeholders to establish architecture standards, governance processes, and technology roadmaps that support healthcare operations, government requirements, cloud modernization, and innovation. In the role of Senior Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for defining and executing enterprise technology strategy across healthcare and regulated cloud environments, with a strong focus on FedRAMP, HIPAA, healthcare interoperability, security, compliance, and digital transformation

About The Position


Enterprise Architecture Strategy



  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and target-state architecture.
  • Develop multi-year technology roadmaps supporting healthcare and government-regulated business objectives.
  • Align technology investments with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Lead enterprise modernization initiatives, including cloud transformation and platform consolidation.


FedRAMP & Regulatory Compliance Leadership



  • Architect systems and processes compliant with FedRAMP Moderate and High baselines.
  • Ensure alignment with NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FISMA, and federal cloud security requirements.
  • Collaborate with compliance, security, legal, and audit teams to maintain regulatory adherence.
  • Support Authority to Operate (ATO) initiatives and security assessment activities.
  • Guide implementation of continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation strategies.


Healthcare Architecture & Interoperability



  • Design enterprise solutions supporting HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, and state healthcare regulations.
  • Lead architecture strategies for healthcare platforms, payer systems, provider systems, population health, and member engagement capabilities.
  • Drive interoperability initiatives utilizing:

    • HL7
    • FHIR
    • X12 EDI
    • API-based healthcare integrations


  • Develop enterprise data architecture supporting clinical, claims, eligibility, enrollment, and member data domains.
  • Support data governance, privacy, and healthcare information security initiatives.


Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture



  • Develop cloud adoption and migration strategies using:

    • Microsoft Azure Government
    • Azure Commercial
    • AWS GovCloud
    • AWS Commercial


  • Establish cloud governance, security, networking, and operational frameworks.
  • Lead hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architecture initiatives.
  • Drive infrastructure modernization and platform standardization efforts.


Security Architecture



  • Partner with Security and Risk teams to establish Zero Trust architecture strategies.
  • Ensure solutions incorporate:

    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Data encryption
    • Endpoint security
    • Security monitoring and incident response


  • Evaluate security architecture designs and ensure compliance with organizational security policies.


Data & Integration Architecture



  • Define enterprise data management and integration strategies.
  • Develop API-first architecture standards and integration patterns.
  • Establish standards for:

    • Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
    • Event-driven architecture
    • API Management
    • Healthcare data exchange


  • Support advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, and reporting initiatives.


Architecture Governance



  • Chair or participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARB).
  • Establish architecture decision records (ADRs), standards, and reference architectures.
  • Review solution architectures for alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Monitor technology portfolio health and technical debt reduction initiatives.


Leadership & Mentorship



  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and Engineering teams.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and executive leadership on strategic technology decisions.
  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to prioritize enterprise initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships with cloud providers, healthcare partners, and government agencies.



Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • 7+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Technology Strategy leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting healthcare payer, provider, or healthcare technology organizations.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing FedRAMP-compliant cloud solutions.
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale cloud transformation and modernization programs.
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.


Enterprise Architecture



  • TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework expertise.
  • Business capability modeling and technology road mapping.
  • Application portfolio management and rationalization.
