Responsibilities

Job Summary

Operate all equipment to perform Wastewater Treatment. Perform all required monitoring, testing and quality checks and insure all are accurate and documented. With tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous waste, follow the regulations and requirements of SPCC Plan, RCRA regulations and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals outlined in the AFSR Environmental Management Program.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and perform required duties, listed below, and be familiar with all safety, environmental, and emergency procedures for equipment in that functional area.
  • Perform quantitative metal analysis for Zinc and Copper, Document as required
  • Know and understand reactionary procedures for any deviation out of a normal operating range, High Metal, Upset Lamella, etc
  • Assist with and oversee contractors for sampling from the City of Waco or other entities and perform all required internal sampling per AFS guidelines
  • Have a complete and thorough knowledge in the operation of the Water Treatment System, Filter Presses, and Sludge Dryer
  • Responsible for proper care of equipment
  • Perform and document all checks at required intervals
  • Calibrate/Clean pH probes and document
  • Document all scrubber checks in WWTS along with all other areas of the department
  • Perform preventive maintenance (blowdown) as needed on the Lamella
  • Know and understand all labeling requirements for Plating Waste that is generated through Satellite stations and within the department
  • Rinse/Palletize/Move spent barrels to proper disposal location
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Wear safety equipment as required
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Must abide by and follow the criteria listed in the City of Waco Industrial Discharge Permit
  • Must abide by the responsibilities regarding Stormwater compliance with the TX Multi-Sector General Permit for Industrial Stormwater Discharge
  • Must abide by the Federal Regulations as follows: 40 code of Fed Regulations, RCRA Regulations - Hazardous Waste Regulations, Industrial Pre-Treatment Regulations and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)
  • Must abide by 29 CFR - Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations for Labeling and Shipping Requirements for Hazardous Waste
  • Must abide by the Company Standards - EHS STD 60.31 for Water and EHS STD 60.32 for Waste Management

Qualifications

Basic

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must have meticulous recordkeeping skills

  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
