Our Mission Our Vision Summary: The Senior Manager, Accreditation, Validation, and Credentialing is a senior level position within the ACS Division of Education that serves as the organization's subject matter authority on Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Education (CE) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) accreditation. The position oversees the ACS wide CME and CE Compliance program, establishing consistent accreditation practices and providing consultation and direction to all ACS divisions that develop or offer CME and CE programs. In this capacity, the Senior Manager ensures alignment with evolving national accreditation standards, by communicating requirements and implementing best practices with staff across the College. The Senior Manager is responsible for processing, reviewing, and auditing CME and CE applications for ACS, as well as Joint Providers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accreditation requirements, and for identifying and mitigating compliance risk across a high-volume portfolio. Acting as an internal and external consultant, the role advises Division of Education leadership, colleagues across ACS, and Joint Provider partners on complex or high-risk accreditation activities requiring specialized oversight. The senior manager is also responsible for CME and CE related data, including the collection, monitoring, organizing, cleaning, storing, and generating reports to meet accreditation standards and assist with strategic planning. This role also contributes thought leadership through active participation in national CME, CE and CPD discussions, reinforcing ACS's leadership in accredited education. In addition, this position supports revenue growth and long-term sustainability of the Division's accredited education portfolio through strategic planning, operational efficiency, and expansion of high-quality accredited offerings. This exempt position will report to the Assistant Director, Accreditation, Validation & Credentialing. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. The anticipated salary range for this position is $118,000 - $135,000 (commensurate with related experience). Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Management Responsibilities This position manages a team of three consisting of one Senior Administrator, one CPDA Administrator and one MyCME Administrator, fostering a collaborative, highperforming work environment and supporting professional development through mentorship, clear role delineation, and performance evaluation. This role is responsible for ACCME PARS reporting, budgeting, State regulatory mandate offerings, CE/CME offerings, staff evaluation, and collaborating closely with leaders across multiple ACS divisions. The Senior Manager plays a critical role in the ACS Clinical Congress, supporting planning, implementation, and evaluation activities related to CME credit designation and reporting. The position also works in close partnership with the Data Manager for Validation and Credentialing, particularly in relation to MyCME, the ACS portfolio for tracking and managing individual surgeons' CME credits. 2. Strategic Focus In order to maintain ACS' role as a recognized local and national leader in CPD and CME accreditation, the Senior Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities for program growth, process improvement, and innovation within the CME accreditation program. This includes navigating increasing complexity related to evolving ACCME Commendation Criteria, ACCME/AMA alignment, joint providership programs, changes in credentialing and licensure requirements, and use of AI in accredited educational activities. 3.
