As a Maintenance Trade Lead - HVAC Mechanic, a typical day might include the following:

  • Maintaining and repairing air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment, including split A/C systems, rooftop units, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, ice machines, and electronic controls.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure building systems remain safe, operational, and compliant.
  • Responding to scheduled maintenance requests, emergency repairs, and on-call service needs throughout the Medical Center.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, and other plant equipment.
  • Assisting electricians with troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of new electrical services.
  • Repairing plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets, drain lines, and related building systems.
  • Installing and repairing doors, locks, windows, screens, and performing general carpentry, painting, and plaster work.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing non-clinical hospital equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborating with Engineering leadership, supervisors, and fellow mechanics to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Delivering timely, reliable building services that support patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
  • Remaining flexible to respond to routine and emergency service calls, including overtime as needed.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and appropriate certifications/licenses related to the HVAC trade and a minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience. You must also have a valid New Jersey Driver's License. Preferred qualifications include previous experience working in a healthcare, hospitality, or similar service-focused environment. This position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.
