General Job Description Position Overview IES Residential is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting company safety programs, policies, and compliance initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role works closely with field personnel, operations teams, and leadership to coordinate safety activities, conduct inspections, support training efforts, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate and support daily safety operations and compliance activities across company locations and job sites. Conduct job site inspections, safety audits, and field observations to ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations. Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective action tracking, and follow-up activities. Support implementation and enforcement of company safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Coordinate and assist with employee safety training, onboarding, certifications, and safety meetings. Maintain safety records, reports, inspection documentation, and compliance tracking systems. Communicate professionally with employees, field personnel, management, and regulatory agencies regarding safety requirements and concerns. Identify safety risks, hazards, and process improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actions as needed. Assist with workers' compensation documentation, return-to-work processes, and related administrative activities as required. Monitor safety equipment, materials, and supplies to ensure proper availability and compliance. Support safety awareness initiatives and promote a culture of workplace safety throughout the organization. Participate in operational and safety meetings and provide updates and recommendations to leadership. Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service and support to employees and management. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education High School Minimum Years of Experience 4-6 Specific Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices, OSHA regulations, and compliance requirements preferred. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management or reporting software preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and teams. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks. English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Spanish speaking preferred. Education/Experience High school diploma or GED required; associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Previous safety coordination, compliance, construction, or field operations experience preferred. Construction, residential services, or related industry experience preferred. Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, climb, and movement between office and job site environments. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures. Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support.
