Benefits & Financial Support: Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) As a not-for-profit healthcare organization, Presbyterian Healthcare Services may qualify eligible physicians for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program Physicians practicing at eligible sites may qualify for federal student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps program, providing up to $75,000 in tax-free loan repayment for a two-year service commitment at an approved site in a designated shortage area. Participation is competitive and subject to federal approval and funding availability. New Mexico Physician Tax Credit Eligible physicians practicing in New Mexico may qualify for a state income tax credit of up to $10,000 annually based on program requirements. Eligibility and certification are determined by the State of New Mexico. New Mexico Health Professional Loan Repayment Program Physicians working in designated shortage areas may qualify for state-funded student loan assistance of up to $75,000 annually through an approved service commitment. Participation is competitive and subject to state approval and funding availability.
