The opportunity: We are seeking a Director, Print & Mail Operations to lead Sun Life's enterprise print and mail operations across the U.S. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced operations leader who can deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient document services across high-volume print, mail, document intake, scanning, and digitization functions.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, you will oversee facilities in Milwaukee, WI; Kansas City, KS; and Wellesley, MA, while leading managers who are responsible for day-to-day site performance. You will play a key role in strengthening operational consistency, building leadership capability, improving employee trust and engagement, and ensuring the function continues to meet evolving business, regulatory, and client communication needs.

Primary location is Milwaukee, WI. Regular travel is required to operational facilities in Kansas City, MO and Wellesley, MA.

How you will contribute:

  • Set the vision and direction for multi-site print and mail operations, ensuring Sun Life delivers reliable, compliant, and efficient document services across inbound mail, scanning, digitization, print production, finishing, and outbound distribution.
  • Develop strong site leaders and engaged teams by building trust, reinforcing accountability, improving delegation, and creating a culture of performance, coaching, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the senior operational decision-maker for production priorities, service risks, escalations, business continuity needs, and issues that impact clients, teams, or enterprise partners.
  • Raise the bar on operational excellence by improving quality, turnaround time, consistency, controls, throughput, and service reliability across facilities.
  • Accelerate modernization through automation, digitization, workflow optimization, cost discipline, and data-informed decisions that reduce friction and improve how work gets done.
  • Influence business, technology, procurement, finance, vendor, and operational partners to strengthen compliance, privacy, audit readiness, risk management, and alignment to evolving business needs.

What you will bring with you:

  • Significant experience leading complex corporate in-plant print and mail operations, preferably within a regulated or high-volume document processing environment such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, government, or education.
  • Proven success leading people leaders and multi-site teams.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end print and mail operations, including quality, turnaround time, service delivery, controls, and business continuity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, coach managers, address performance gaps, and develop leadership capability across teams.
  • Experience driving transformation, automation, digitization, workflow improvement, cost management, and vendor performance.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, risk awareness, and operational judgment; bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
