POSITION PURPOSE:

The Capital Spares Manager supports the Inside Sales team by developing spare parts solutions for new lines, rebuilds, and installed equipment. This position is responsible for spare parts process, list development, pricing, customer support, and cross-functional coordination to drive aftermarket sales growth, improve customer reliability, and support Voith personnel and customers throughout the equipment lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Work with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to develop spare parts lists and drawings to support ongoing projects.
  • Take ownership of capital spares process by using clear judgment and economic thinking skills while having a sense of urgency necessary to generate the greatest contribution for both Voith and our customers.
  • Meets with customers regularly to provide support through capital spares purchase and develop relationships to profitably anticipate their needs; markets spare parts business through ongoing relationship.
  • Develop and maintain spare parts stocking strategies for key products and components, leveraging Product Lifecycle Data Management tools to improve availability, reliability, and customer support.
  • Develop market pricing and delivery times based on current company guidelines.
  • Work with Service teams to ensure correct parts are provided to customer in time for service call.
  • Use of computers utilizing Windows based programs and utilizing the SAP ERP system and Salesforce for everyday work requirements.
  • Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, and service teams to resolve customer issues and improve delivery performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to work on a computer and phone.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site customer meetings



MAJOR CHALLENGES:



  • Working on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Balancing competing priorities from external and internal customers.
  • Working independently of daily direction (i.e. "sees what needs to be done and does it.")



AUTHORITY:



  • Create Spare Parts List including pricing and lead times.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A technical school or college level degree and or equivalent work experience desired.
  • Minimum of a two-to-three-year experience in the pulp and paper or supporting industry is desired.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (NAFTA) occasionally (up to 10%)


  • Experience working around or on Paper Machine equipment a plus.
  • A good mechanical aptitude with the ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of materials is preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Proficient in use of computers utilizing Windows based programs.
