Job Summary

The Associate Director of Career Development and Instruction is responsible for setting the strategy and implementation of programs and activities supporting the career development needs of Georgia Southern undergraduate students. This is the lead position in integrating career readiness into the academic experience at Georgia Southern in support of the University's Ready Day 1 Connect initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, supervise and lead Career Development team members within the Office of Career and Professional Development through effective goal setting, management and motivation
  • Create career readiness content for faculty and staff in support of the University's career readiness initiatives. Manage a database of content including lesson plans, PPT presentations, class assignments, and supporting resources. Engage with faculty as appropriate for training and development of new resources
  • Lead the faculty engagement strategy in support of Georgia Southern's Ready Day 1 initiative. Guide the department in identifying next implementation of Ready Day 1 academic initiatives
  • Lead the instruction and content development of credit bearing career development courses such as GSU 2131 and GSU 2132
  • Establish strong faculty relationships with relevant campus stakeholders, including faculty of all colleges, and staff responsible for student success
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Master's Degree

Required Experience

  • Four (4) or more years in Career Services environment or related industry
Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Appropriate certifications including Strong Interest Inventory, MBTI, and other assessments

Preferred Experience

  • Six (6) or more years of related work experience
  • Prior leadership position in University career services
Proposed Salary

$68,000 - $71,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
