As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Badging in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a secure environment while representing Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver's license.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized individuals in accordance with established procedures.
• Control access to restricted areas, issue and account for visitor credentials, keys, and/or access devices as assigned, and report discrepancies to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, exits, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess customer service experience, preferred.
• Possess access control or badge experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
