AI Transformation Technology Enablement and Platform Leader

BDO USA, LLP
United States, Illinois, Chicago
225 West Randolph Street (Show on map)
Aug 24, 2026

Job Summary:

This role helps set and translate the firm's AI direction into an actionable technology strategy, identifying where AI can create the greatest enterprise value, strengthen existing services, enable new revenue opportunities, and change how work is delivered. Working closely with firm leadership, the practices, and the Enterprise AI Team and broader technology organization, the role determines what capabilities the firm needs, where to prioritize investment, and how technology must evolve to achieve the firm's strategic and financial goals. This reflects the firm's broader AI strategy, which connects AI to improved delivery, better decision-making, proactive engagement management, responsible adoption, and revenue growth.

The role is built as the counterpart of the AI Transformation Operations and Change Management Leader, the senior role on the people side, who owns the champions network, the training curriculum, the change management that makes new ways of working stick, and the business metrics definitions and financial analysis of the program. Technology and people are the two halves of one model; this role delivers the technology half, including the project management of the dashboard family. It does not sell directly to clients: offerings built on the Firm's transformation go to market through the established practices. Scope grows as the transformation extends across BDO's member firms abroad.

Job Duties:

  • Owns technical enablement end to end, including the technical track of the AI Champions Network. The firm's technical enablement team owns execution
  • Runs the firm's AI platforms as one set, on one principle: the firm buys once and buys well, so a strong idea in one practice scales to the rest instead of fragmenting into one-off purchases, with clear guidance on which tool for which job
  • Guides the technology side of the firm's human-agent operating model: the platforms, guardrails, and connection patterns for managing digital labor alongside human talent
  • Supports governance as a fast lane with the Chief Data & AI Officer's organization: evidence-based access decisions, spending caps where spend occurs, and guardrails that keep client commitments intact, such as contracts requiring US-only data processing
  • Runs the project management of the dashboard family: the release plan with BDO Digital, and the data feeds from every AI platform recorded the same way
  • Scales what works: the assessment that takes agents with proven traction through governance review, strengthening, and firm-wide rollout, celebrates their creators, and retires agents whose cost outruns their return, plus the firm's library of connectors between agents and internal systems
  • Owns the revenue bridge and technology vendor relationships that convert transformation assets into market-facing offerings, including dashboards used in client transformation engagements and internally developed agents that mature into client solutions
  • Manages strategic AI vendor relationships, including Microsoft, Anthropic, OpenAI, and specialty vendors adopted by the practices, including joint go-to-market initiatives
  • Oversees vendor evaluation, procurement, platform operations, and commercial terms related to technology and AI solutions
  • Other duties as required

  • Experience leading platforms and programs from design through measured adoption at scale, including presentation of adoption metrics and financial results, required
  • Experience leading through influence and aligning cross-functional organizations without direct reporting authority, required
  • Experience with enterprise vendor management, including commercial negotiations, licensing structures, usage-based pricing, and joint go-to-market initiatives, required
  • Experience building and managing a working portfolio of no-code personal AI agents using tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent platforms from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, required
  • Experience presenting live demonstrations of AI agents, including agent purpose, onboarding approach, and ongoing performance management, required
  • Broad working knowledge of the agent-building market, including the ability to compare platforms, guide organizational selection decisions, and engage credibly with vendors and builders, required
  • Hands-on experience creating interactive documents and lightweight applications using AI collaborative tools and command-line AI assistants, required
  • Experience managing hybrid teams composed of both people and AI agents, including delegation, quality review, feedback loops, accountability, and early identification of operational breakdowns, required

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Equally credible negotiating with a vendor's executives, walking a practice leader through a revenue opportunity, and helping a first-year colleague fix an agent
