The PI Warranty / Troubleshooter Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing train systems during commissioning, warranty, and early passenger service phases. The role ensures fleet availability, reliability, and safe operation by supporting testing, commissioning, modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities. The technician provides technical expertise across teams while ensuring compliance with EHS standards and efficient execution of all field activities.
Technical & Operational Activities
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and system-level faults
- Execute testing, commissioning, and warranty activities on vehicles
- Replace failed components and perform corrective maintenance
- Support fleet checks, inspections, and system validation activities
- Manage logistical support and repair of commissioned vehicles and related facilities
Failure Management & Continuous Improvement
- Record, report, and track equipment or subsystem failures
- Perform preliminary root cause analysis and escalate to engineering or suppliers
- Ensure timely response and follow-up of repair actions throughout the warranty lifecycle
- Document all activities and results in certified tools (e.g., Maximo, GSI/SES)
- Contribute to Return of Experience (REX) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deploy methods, tools, and best practices identified at site level
Coordination & Interfaces
- Develop a clear and thorough understanding of Customer Acceptance Criteria
- Collaborate with PI and O&M Leads to develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitor deviations
- Ensure seamless coordination with engineering, product introduction, logistics, industrial support, quality, and O&M teams
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for issue resolution and technical support
Execution & Logistics Support
- Execute assigned work orders and report any deviations or incidents immediately
- Monitor and maintain on-site spare parts and inventory in coordination with PI Site Manager, logistics, and O&M teams
- Identify and prevent critical material shortages that could impact operations
- Support train recovery activities and manage access permits as required
Compliance, Safety & Operations
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies and safe working practices
- Participate in shop floor safety activities and promote a safe working environment
- Maintain flexibility to work day/night shifts and be on-call as required to support continuous operations
- Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
Education
- Technician degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and maintenance
Technical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, and embedded systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
