Koch Fertilizer in Enid, Oklahoma has a Reliability Engineer Intern Summer 2027 opportunity available. The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2027.

What You Will Do

  • Take on projects that are representative of the work our full-time engineers do, gaining hands-on experience supporting plant reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence.
  • Analyze equipment and operational data to identify improvement opportunities, support decision-making, and develop reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs by evaluating equipment performance, inspection requirements, testing intervals, and spare parts strategies.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities to solve equipment-related challenges and improve plant reliability.
  • Leverage engineering tools, data analytics, AI, and technology solutions to improve efficiency and enhance access to technical documentation and equipment information.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), piping isometrics, plot plans, and equipment specifications.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams throughout the facility to develop solutions that improve equipment performance and plant uptime

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Enrolled in a degree or alternative program. (e.g., 4 year college program, 2 year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2029.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment, engines, rotating equipment, or maintenance systems
  • Demonstrated involvement in engineering design teams, student organizations, or hands-on mechanical projects
