Position Summary Wallenpaupack Area School District is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and studentcentered educational leader to serve as Administrator of Career & Technical Education (CTE).
The Administrator of CTE will provide leadership and oversight for the District's Career and Technical Education programs while supporting the continued development of high-quality career pathways and opportunities for students. The Administrator will work closely with school district administrators, educators, students, families, employers, postsecondary institutions, workforce development organizations, and community partners to ensure that CTE programming remains responsive to student interests and the evolving needs of the regional workforce.
The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking leader who understands the importance of preparing students for college, careers, military service, and the workforce and who can develop strong partnerships that provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Essential Responsibilities
The Administrator of CTE will: Provide leadership and oversight for the Career and Technical Education programs operated by Wallenpaupack Area School District. Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve CTE programs to ensure alignment with student interests, postsecondary opportunities, industry standards, and workforce needs. Monitor enrollment, student participation, program effectiveness, completion, placement, and other relevant CTE data. Work collaboratively with principals, teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and families to expand student access to meaningful career pathways. Support the recruitment, hiring, supervision, evaluation, and professional development of CTE instructional staff in accordance with District policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements. Ensure CTE programs comply with Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements, applicable state and federal regulations, industry standards, and required safety practices. Coordinate and support program advisory committees and maintain strong relationships with business and industry partners. Collaborate with postsecondary institutions, workforce development organizations, employers, and community partners to create meaningful pathways for students. Assist with the development and administration of CTE budgets, equipment purchases, facilities planning, and program resources. Identify and pursue grants and other funding opportunities that support CTE programming and student opportunities. Assist with the development of new CTE programs based on student demand, workforce needs, available resources, and District priorities. Evaluate existing programs and make recommendations regarding expansion, modification, consolidation, or discontinuation based on enrollment, student outcomes, workforce demand, and available resources. Ensure that CTE instructional spaces, laboratories, equipment, and learning environments are maintained in a safe, functional, and industry-relevant condition. Coordinate student recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and enrollment processes for District CTE programs. Promote equitable access to CTE opportunities for all students. Represent Wallenpaupack Area School District at local, regional, and state CTE meetings and professional organizations. Communicate effectively with the Board of Education, administration, staff, students, parents/guardians, community members, business leaders, and other stakeholders. Assist with long-range planning related to the District's CTE programs, facilities, equipment, and instructional needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications
Required: Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Pennsylvania administrative certification or eligibility for appropriate Pennsylvania administrative certification. Valid Pennsylvania instructional or Career and Technical Education certification. Successful experience in education, CTE, career development, workforce development, or a related field. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Successful completion of all required Pennsylvania background clearances.
Preferred: Administrative experience in Career and Technical Education. Experience working with Pennsylvania CTE programs and PDE requirements. Experience developing partnerships with business and industry. Experience with CTE program development, grants, budgets, or facilities planning. Familiarity with Perkins funding and other CTE-related funding sources. Experience developing work-based learning opportunities. Industry experience or strong knowledge of regional workforce needs. Experience with program evaluation and data-driven decision-making.
