Position description
The Academic Coordinator I performs under general supervision, administrative duties of minimal to moderate program complexity in support of the School of Social Sciences Academic Resource Center (SSARC), tutoring and outreach programming. 1. Academic Program Planning and Event Coordination
Coordinates and administers weekly academic enrichment and co-curricular programs and events at the SSARC. Exercises judgment within established guidelines to ensure programs align with the academic mission of the School. 2. Student Academic Advising and Development Support
Provides academic guidance and advising to student leaders and students participating in co-curricular programs, student government, and student organizations on non-sensitive matters. Facilitates student academic and professional development through scheduled appointments and walk-in advising sessions. 3. Academic Program Operations and Support Services
Administers the day-to-day operations of the SSARC to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of academic support services and student programs. Coordinates resources, services, and logistical needs to support student academic success and co-curricular engagement. Works independently within defined guidelines and escalates complex issues to supervising faculty or academic leaders as appropriate. 4. School and Campus-Wide Academic Program Coordination
Supports the planning, coordination, operations and implementation of School and campus-wide academic programs and initiatives, including the School of Social Sciences tutoring and outreach programming that includes but is not limited to LeadHR and SPIRL. Contributes to the administration of these programs in a support capacity, consistent with the academic goals and priorities of the School. 5. Stakeholder Liaison and Partnership Development
Cultivates and maintains working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in support of academic program success. Serves as a liaison between the School and other University departments, academic units, and relevant outside organizations, as necessitated by the needs of the University-based student and academic clientele. 6. Academic Program Assessment and Development
Assists with the assessment of academic program activities, student constituency needs, and program outcomes. Provides recommendations to leadership regarding improvements, new activities, or enhancements to existing services and programs to better support the academic and co-curricular development of students.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications

* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience in secondary and higher education programming and implementation.
* Demonstrated success and commitment to diversity and equity, and keen sensitivity to the interest of all underrepresented groups.
