The Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center is recruiting for a full-time licensed behavioral health professional to provide mental health and substance use therapy in the Woodland Behavioral Health - Adult Therapy Clinic. This position is a non-supervisory position that will provide direct therapy services through individual, couples, and group modalities. We are looking for a passionate, caring, creative, trauma-informed clinician who utilizes a wide range of therapeutic interventions within their treatment practice. The position requires strong crisis assessment and management skills, skilled experience working with trauma, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide culturally appropriate approaches to treatment for the Urban Native American community as well as the diverse community surrounding. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing individual, couples, and group therapy for adolescents and adults in the Woodland Behavioral Health - Adult Therapy Clinic.
- Provides clinical services including intakes, assessments, risk assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and safety planning within the Adult Therapy Clinic.
- Responsible for operations within the department to ensure services are provided in a manner that meets all applicable licensure, certification, and accrediting regulations.
- Delivers services using trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches with particular attention to Native American communities.
- Support grant deliverables for a variety of programs such as risk assessments, trainings, outreach, workshops, and other community-based services.
- Assists with crisis response in an integrated care setting, providing crisis support
- Facilitates referrals to higher levels of care, as needed, coordinating with hospitals, schools, families, and wraparound providers when appropriate.
- Provides on-call services within the Woodland Behavioral Health Department after-hours rotation schedule.
- Participates in multidisciplinary clinical staff meetings and case consultations with the Woodland Behavioral Health team.
- Supports quality improvement initiatives aligned with grant deliverables, agency goals, accreditations, and other identified benchmarks.
- Responsible for tracking individual client caseload data and providing data reports to the Director of Behavioral Health upon request.
- Documents all services in the electronic medical record (OCHIN EPIC) and maintains strict confidentiality per federal and state guidelines.
- Maintains proper certification and licensure that is up to date with accrediting standards for State Certified Mental Health Programs.
- Upholds the Professional Code of Ethics.
- Provides education and training to staff regarding mental health and wellness-related topics.
- Adheres to and supports facility policies, programs, and activities.
- Demonstrates tact, courtesy, and a positive approach to communication and interactions with other employees, visitors, physicians, etc.
- Provides hands-on support, serves on subcommittees, and represents the Behavioral Health Department at health center events as assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and drug-free environment;
- Implements Performance Improvement measures in appropriate areas.
- Willingness to work beyond what is required periodically and travel for continuing education hours.
- Perform any other job-related duties as specified by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field, certified by the State of Wisconsin as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Experience working in Tribal Health, IHS or similar settings with Native American clients preferred.
- Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Prior experience working with adolescents and adults in a professional setting.
- Interact in a confidential, dependable, honest, professional, and trustworthy manner with patients, employees, and community agencies.
- Strong experience in evidence-based treatment for substance use and trauma-related issues.
- Experience providing care for severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture, traditions, and healing practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and electronic health records (OCHIN EPIC preferred).

Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Work is performed in an office environment utilizing various office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line phone. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, by computer and in person. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment.
