Description and Requirements

About Our Team

We are hiring a senior Data Center Power Architect for Lenovo's Cloud Service Provider Group (CSP). This role will lead next-generation end-to-end power architecture for hyperscale, cloud, AI/GPU, server, and storage infrastructure-from data center AC distribution through rack and server DC power delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end power architecture from utility/grid interface to rack and server loads.

  • Define AC infrastructure covering MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDU, busway, protection, grounding, redundancy, and power quality.

  • Define rack/server DC architecture covering PSU/power shelves, 48V/54V/12V, DC busbars, BBU/capacitor shelves, DC-DC/POL, and emerging HVDC.

  • Develop architectures for 100 kW, 200 kW, 500 kW and future MW-class AI racks/pods.

  • Optimize efficiency, density, availability, redundancy, serviceability, scalability, and cost across the complete power chain.

  • Analyze peak/dynamic GPU loads, power excursions, transient response, ride-through, backup power, and energy storage.

  • Develop system/rack power budgets, capacity models, redundancy schemes, and fault-protection strategies.

  • Evaluate centralized vs. distributed power and emerging AC/DC/HVDC architectures.

  • Lead architecture trade-offs, specification/design reviews, technology evaluation, and validation strategy.

  • Develop next-generation data center and rack power technology roadmaps.

  • Partner with thermal, mechanical, cooling, rack, server, GPU, facilities, and system architecture teams.

  • Engage hyperscale/cloud customers, suppliers, ODM/OEMs, and technology partners.

  • Lead complex system/rack power issue root-cause analysis.

Key Architecture Areas

  • AC distribution 400/480Vac and 415/240Vac architectures

  • Transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS

  • PDU, busway and rack distribution

  • N, N+1, 2N and distributed redundancy

  • Power quality, grounding and protection

  • 48V/54V/12V DC and emerging HVDC

  • PSU and power shelves

  • DC busbars, BBU and capacitor shelves

  • AC/DC and DC/DC conversion

  • Energy storage and ride-through

  • High-density AI/GPU rack power

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of data center power, critical power infrastructure, rack/server power, or power electronics experience.

  • Strong expertise in data center AC electrical infrastructure and three-phase power systems.

  • Experience with transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDU, busway, protection, grounding, and redundancy.

  • Working knowledge of rack/server DC architectures including 48V/54V, PSU, power shelves, busbars, BBU, and DC-DC conversion.

  • Strong system-level architecture and technical trade-off capability.

  • Experience developing power specifications, architecture documents, and validation plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or related field.

  • Hyperscale, cloud, or AI data center experience.

  • Experience with 100 kW+ AI racks and MW-class rack/pod architectures.

  • Knowledge of MV/LV distribution, HVDC, advanced energy storage, and solid-state power conversion.

  • Knowledge of OCP architectures and IEC, UL, and IEEE requirements.

  • Understanding of interactions among power, cooling, thermal, mechanical, compute, networking, and rack infrastructure.

  • Experience engaging directly with hyperscale customers and ecosystem partners.
