| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The primary purpose of the Administrative Associate is to provide administrative support to the Department of Film Studies.
The Administrative Associate is responsible for the following Department of Film Studies duties:
- Provides general office support, receptionist for the Film Studies Department and assists the department chair.
- Inputs the department course schedule into Banner.
- Oversees department social media.
- Assists in interdepartmental communications.
- Maintains department files.
- Providing support for faculty searches.
- Manages keys and building access.
- Coordinates departmental events.
- Assists the department chair with other duties as assigned.
- Assists in the supervision of student workers in coordination with the department chair.

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
| Preferred education, professional skills and experience |
- Knowledge of the regulations and policies of the department, College of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts, University of North Carolina, and the State of North Carolina, which are applicable to the work.
- Knowledge of Banner financial and student information systems.
- Specific knowledge of the formats involved in the preparation of documents necessary for the department's teaching and service mission.
- Experience in a University and/or office environment.
