The HRIS Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and accuracy of the organization's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), while also providing day-to-day HR support to employees and managers. This position combines HRIS administration, HR data management, and general HR responsibilities and serves as a key resource for HR operations across the organization.

HRIS Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the administration and day-to-day maintenance of ADP.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee data within ADP, ensuring information is complete, current, and properly documented.
  • Process employee changes including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, status changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain ADP workflows, forms, organizational structures, and electronic employee files.
  • Troubleshoot ADP issues and coordinate with payroll when necessary.
  • Assist with system audits, data validation, and reporting to identify and correct discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain ADP reports and assist with HR data requests and analysis.
  • Support HRIS-related process improvements, system updates, testing, and implementation of new functionality.
  • Track and administer annual performance appraisal campaigns within ADP.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through separation.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including paperwork, ADP setup, and orientation coordination.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, PTO, timekeeping, and other HR-related matters.
  • Assist managers and employees with HR policies, procedures, and day-to-day HR issues.
  • Assist with employee relations matters and escalate complex issues to the HR Manager as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidential employee records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with required employment documentation and HR compliance activities.
  • Support audits and reporting related to employee records, payroll, benefits, and HR programs.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, system enhancements, and company-wide HR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HRIS administration and/or HR generalist responsibilities, with demonstrated experience managing or supporting an HRIS.
  • Hands-on experience working with an HRIS and timekeeping/payroll systems.
  • Strong understanding of general HR practices, employment processes, and the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, managers, and HR leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
  • Experience with ADP or similar HR/payroll systems.
  • Experience creating HRIS reports, conducting data audits, or supporting HRIS implementations and system enhancements.
  • Experience with performance management or other HR processes administered through an HRIS.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.
