| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Division of Finance and Operations at
UNC-Chapel Hill encompasses a broad range of departments (Facilities Services, Finance, Budget & Data Analysis, Real Estate & Campus Enterprises, Human Resources, and Organizational Strategy and Performance) that serve and support the University s teaching, research, and public service mission through dedicated, innovative work processes and high-quality customer service.
Employment & Staffing is a high functioning human resources team within the Office of Human Resources that promotes a positive service-oriented approach to human resource management that is compliant with
UNC-Chapel Hill,
UNC System, state, and federal regulations. We provide the following services to applicants, employees and campus business partners:

EHRA Non-Faculty and
SHRA positions
Temporary employment and staffing services
Form I-9 employment eligibility verification and E-Verify compliance

Administration of
SHRA layoff policies and transition services

| Position Summary |
Note: This position is a 100% remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. This temporary position supports the Employment & Staffing team by coordinating and facilitating employee offboarding activities. The position serves as a liaison to support integrated work processes and ensure compliant and customer-focused offboarding experiences for employees and stakeholders.
Responsibilities include scheduling and conducting employee offboarding sessions, coordinating outplacement services, processing and maintaining offboarding-related documentation, and performing data entry to ensure accurate employee records.
Additional responsibilities include filing documents and maintaining electronic records in accordance with State records retention requirements. The position supports audit and compliance activities by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of offboarding records and documentation.
The position collaborates with internal and external customers to understand their needs and deliver services that support organizational goals and objectives. This position is expected to uphold the department's core values and provide professional, responsive service to all stakeholders throughout the offboarding process. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
- Prior human resources experience in a large, complex organizational setting
- Prior experience in a fast-paced higher education or public sector setting
- Intermediate experience and knowledge using Microsoft Office specifically Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Intermediate experience using Human Resource information systems while accurately entering data into databases
- Ability to complete a high volume of time-sensitive work to meet stringent deadlines
