The US Oncology Network is looking for a Digital QA Engineer to join our team at Texas Oncology!

This is a remote position, but the candidate must reside in Texas.

What does the Digital QA Engineer do?

The Senior Digital QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring digital solutions delivered through the Texas Oncology IT Digital Strategy and Delivery team meet quality, reliability, automation, and production readiness standards. This senior individual contributor role leads testing strategy and execution across system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), test automation, API and integration testing, defect management, and release readiness activities.

The ideal candidate combines strong quality engineering expertise, hands-on automation experience, and healthcare technology knowledge to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with clinical and operational workflows.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop and execute QA strategies, test plans, test cases, and risk-based testing approaches aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Lead SIT, UAT, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing activities across complex digital solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites to improve test coverage, efficiency, and release quality.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and promote quality engineering best practices.
  • Validate clinical, operational, and digital workflows, ensuring functionality, usability, data accuracy, and system reliability.
  • Perform API, interface, and data validation testing across integrated applications and vendor solutions.
  • Manage the full defect lifecycle, including triage, prioritization, resolution validation, and reporting.
  • Establish quality metrics, testing standards, traceability, and release readiness criteria.
  • Provide quality assessments, testing status, and risk recommendations to project and business stakeholders.
  • Support production deployments, cutover activities, go-live validation, and post-implementation quality reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, automation capabilities, and testing governance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, quality engineering, or a related technology role.
  • Experience leading testing efforts across enterprise applications, integrations, and digital platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation, API testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Healthcare, clinical, oncology, patient access, scheduling, revenue cycle, or digital health technology environments.
  • Testing multi-system solutions involving APIs, integrations, healthcare data exchange, and vendor platforms.
  • Experience supporting QA governance, quality metrics, and release readiness processes.
  • Exposure to AI, natural language processing, contact center technologies, or emerging digital platforms.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile delivery, SIT, UAT, and release management.
  • Experience with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD-enabled testing and automated regression strategies.
  • Strong understanding of API, integration, workflow, and data validation testing.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data quality validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and healthcare data workflows is preferred.
