About This Role

The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire a Salesforce Administrator to administer the Salesforce-based platform supporting KCCTO, to include Cape, Kansas' statewide early childhood professional development and workforce registry system. This position will help store, organize, maintain, and improve access to customer data to ensure users can easily access the information they need and that data is protected from unauthorized access. The Salesforce Administrator will support and maintain the Salesforce platform ecosystem, which includes Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Experience Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and Content Management System (CMS) capabilities, and will support ongoing system development, including collaborating with outside vendors when applicable. This position will report to K-State's Assistant Director of Business Systems.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Ensure compliance with organizational data governance and security requirements
  • Manage user accounts, roles, profiles, permissions, and license assignments, including onboarding and deactivations
  • Track user engagement and system usage to identify areas for improvement and drive adoption
  • Ensure data integrity through regular audits and analysis, and maintain the organization's Object Data Dictionary
  • Understand and leverage the connectivity of the Salesforce ecosystem and related external data sources
  • Develop and deliver user training sessions and create supporting documentation and materials
  • Collaborate with users, governance, and vendors to collect and document business needs and translate them into effective Salesforce solutions
  • Implement and maintain Salesforce configuration changes such as Flows, fields, page layouts, record types, dashboards, reports, and other declarative tools
  • Develop, test, and implement feature enhancements in Salesforce CRM, Experience Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and Content Management System (CMS)
  • Troubleshoot software errors and implement fixes or work with third-party vendors to correct issues, working in Salesforce functionality using APEX, Lightning Web Components, and other custom components
  • Ensure ongoing enhancements and improvements of performance and security of Salesforce through continuous research and implementation of new Salesforce feature functionality

(KCCTO) is a state-wide training office dedicated to providing quality, accessible, professional development opportunities to family childcare providers, childcare center staff, and other early education professionals throughout Kansas. KCCTO is a sponsored project of Kansas State University and the College of Health and Human Sciences. The mission of KCCTO is to ensure high-quality early education and care through professional development and support for those who work with and on behalf of young children. Worksite Description

This position is remote eligible.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma
  • Five years of relevant experience

    • Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/enterprise platforms
  • Experience working with technical teams and complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Experience working with or supporting grant-funded programs and understanding associated compliance and reporting requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience establishing or improving user support systems and operational processes
  • Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, or other Salesforce certifications
  • Experience implementing and maintaining payment integrations with Stripe or other payment processors
  • Experience working with public-sector, nonprofit, or workforce development environments
  • Familiarity with early childhood systems, workforce registries, or statewide data systems
  • Experience collaborating with state agencies, governance boards, or multi-agency initiatives
  • Experience partnering with centralized IT organizations (e.g., K-State IT)
  • Background in user support operations, data governance, system integrations, or platform architecture
  • Experience developing training, documentation, or operational procedures for system users
