The Department of Transportation is looking for a Clerical Assistant 2 who is ready to take on meaningful work that supports daily operations across the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports key financial and customer service operations related to accounts payable and accounts receivable for statewide driver and vehicle programs. The work involves careful research, communication, and independent decision making.
As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Records Research: Review complex customer records, payment details, and case information to determine accurate financial outcomes
- Case Processing: Complete account payable and receivable actions by applying regulations and entering accurate updates into multiple systems
- Customer Communication: Respond to claimants and debtors through calls, letters, or email to explain decisions and gather needed information
- Financial Decisions: Make independent determinations on routine and unusual cases while escalating only when necessary
- System Coordination: Work with internal partners and external agencies to resolve case issues and apply payments correctly

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
