Career Exploration and Success seeks an academic or highly qualified practitioner to serve as a part-time co-adjunct instructor for the one-credit section of the Rutgers Internship and Co-op Course (
RICC) during the Fall semester.
This is a fixed-term Class 8 teaching appointment for one asynchronous, credit-bearing course section.
RICC helps students connect their internship experiences with career development, professional reflection, workplace learning, and the development and articulation of career-readiness competencies.
The co-adjunct instructor is responsible for the instruction and academic administration of the assigned course section, including:
- Administering the course in accordance with the established curriculum, course policies, and academic calendar.
- Participating in required instructor orientation, training, and weekly instructor meetings.
- Reviewing and grading weekly assignments and student time logs.
- Providing timely, detailed, and individualized feedback on student work.
- Meeting individually with students as needed to support their experiential learning and professional development.
- Helping students identify, reflect upon, and articulate the skills and competencies developed through their internships.
- Communicating with students and internship-site supervisors when course-related questions or concerns arise regarding a student's experience.
- Maintaining accurate instructional and student records.
- Submitting final grades by the university deadline.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Candidates must be able to provide individualized student feedback, manage the assigned course independently, and meet established instructional and grading deadlines. Prior college-level teaching, career advising, student coaching, or experiential-learning experience is preferred.
The appointment is limited to the teaching, grading, student support, and course-administration responsibilities associated with the assigned one-credit section. It does not include continuing staff responsibilities, general departmental administration, program management, staff supervision, event support, or unrelated duties.
The appointment begins and ends with the Fall semester and carries no expectation of continued employment. Any subsequent teaching appointment is contingent upon instructional need, satisfactory performance, available funding, and required university approvals.
The stipend for this one-credit appointment is $2,777 for the Fall semester. |
