    Summary:
    The Machine
    Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining
    production machinery used in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. This
    role may support a variety of machine operations, including but not limited to
    bending, cutting, machining, water jet operations and other equipment-based
    production processes.

  • The Machine
    Operator ensures that parts and components are produced according to
    specifications, drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and production
    schedules. This position requires attention to detail, safe work practices,
    basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced
    manufacturing environment. Experience operating benders or similar fabrication
    equipment is preferred.

  • Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

  • Review drawings and/or instructions before each build.

  • Acquire parts, hardware, and tools to be used during the build.

  • Complete work according to takt time on a moving assembly line.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm that assembled products meet quality standards.

  • Identify any product defects, record, and report them accordingly.

  • Complete required quality and production forms.

  • Applies acquired skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

  • Operate one or more types of production or fabrication equipment, which may include benders, CNC machines, saws, waterjets, forming equipment, or other manufacturing machinery.

  • Set up machines according to work instructions, drawings, specifications, production requirements, and material type.

  • Load, position, and remove materials or components safely and efficiently.

  • Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are produced accurately and equipment is functioning properly.

  • Perform machine changeovers as needed for different parts, materials, tooling, or production requirements.

  • Support bender operations, including preparing materials, setting up bend requirements, verifying angles or dimensions, and ensuring completed parts meet specifications.

  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe.

  • Communicate effectively with team leader and supervisors.

  • Be a core value advocate.

  • Must be able to work overtime as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.

  • Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred. Relevant vocational training, manufacturing experience, or equivalent on-the-job training may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, production, or industrial environment.Ability to operate or learn to operate production machinery safely and effectively.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, blueprints, or production specifications.

  • Ability to use precision measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, protractors, or similar tools.

  • Basic math skills, including measurement, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and quality procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and support production schedules.

  • Preferred
    Qualifications:

  • Experience operating benders or other metal forming equipment.

  • Experience with CNC, waterjet, saw, drilling, cutting, or other fabrication machinery.

  • Two or more years of machine operator experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Experience reading CAD drawings, blueprints, or 1:1 drawings.

  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with some supervision.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete work within a set time.

  • Ability to read and understand instructions and other documents.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and machines.

  • Ability to identify and report issues.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Must maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset.

  • Level
    of Education or Experience in Lieu of:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, vocational training and/or on-the-job training.

  • Typically requires a general education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $19.00 - $25.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
